We are Ragdoll breeders located in Portland, Oregon. Read all about us!

We are a family cattery. The kittens are a part of our family until they are ready to become part of yours. This is the story of how we got started breeding and a little bit about us.

My name is Cameron, I am 21. I breed Ragdolls with my mom and brother. I have always loved animals. We have been breeding for about 7 years. Before Ragdolls, I always considered myself a dog person, as did my mom, but at this point, I can say I am definitely a cat person.

In the Spring of 2015, we adopted our first Ragdoll, Toby. Prior to this, we had always adopted from humane shelters, but we decided to try something new because I was going into middle school and my brother was entering high school. My mom thought that Toby would probably be the last cat she ever got us. Boy was she wrong.

Toby was unlike any cat we had ever had. We fell in love instantly. Toby came from a cattery called My Ragdoll Heaven. I bonded with his breeder, Elsie, and soon she invited me to help her socialize her kittens. After we had been working together for about a year, I asked if I could breed too. I helped her deliver kittens and take care of her queens.

Once I was ready, she let me choose a girl to become my first breeder. I chose Nudge when she was just a few days old. After I had picked out my kitten, I worked hard to bond with her. I started carrying her around in a baby sling as soon as she was old enough to regulate her own body heat. I slept over at Elsie’s house often so that I could spend as much time as possible with Nudge. As a result of both her predisposition to be sweet and my extra socialization, she blossomed into the sweet cat that she is today.

My mom and I agreed that we had ought to get another breeder of a similar age so that they could bond. That is when we decided to get Honi too. Originally I chose Honi’s sister, but Honi was so sweet and cuddly that I decided she would be a better fit. Her sister was also very sweet, but Honi and I had a connection early on.

After Nudge’s first litter of six beautiful kittens, I quickly realized just how big of a responsibility it is to care for kittens. Nudge trusted me to care for her babies and I accepted the responsibility. It was hard work, but it was worth it. We met many new people and built many friendships. Our kittens are part of our family until they leave for their forever home, we love to see pictures of them as they grow.

We want to meet people and have them meet us before they choose a kitten. That is why we like people to fill out our adoption questionnaire so that we can get to know more about you. It is very important for people to meet the kittens before they choose one. Although they are all very sweet, sometimes a kitten will bond with one person in particular. Other times, there may be one that fits perfectly into your unique family. For example, sometimes we have kittens who are especially outgoing and would be great with kids, while other kitties my be a bit timid around dogs.

Our kittens are raised with our golden retriever, Juno, so most of them do quite well with dogs. If you do really want a certain color or pattern we will definitely try to accommodate that, but we believe that the most important thing about a cat is their personality.

Hi, my name is Donna, I’m Cameron’s mom. Joining her on this Ragdoll journey brings me such joy! When we adopted our first Ragdoll kitten, Toby, I never thought we would own more than one cat. I knew I enjoyed cats, but I had no idea how quickly I would fall in love with Ragdoll cats! I often joke that Ragdolls are like potato chips, you really can’t have just one! And even if you could, why would you?

Cameron shared what brought us to Ragdolls, so I thought I would share a few of my favorite things about Ragdoll cats and what I love about breeding!

First and foremost, my favorite thing about Ragdoll cats and kittens is their personality! They are the dog of the cat world. Our Ragdolls greet us when we come home, hang out with us (on our laps, at our feet, right near us on the couch, or perched watching us from the closest cat tree), follow us around the house, and many of them play fetch. Ragdolls also have silly playful personalities that make us laugh often.

I love how easy and adaptable Ragdoll cats and kittens are! We take our Ragdolls lots of places with us. We take our Ragdolls to visit family and friends, on family vacations, to appointments, out to dinner, and on walks around our neighborhood. A couple of years ago I bought Incognito Pet Carriers from Sturdi, and they dramatically improved the ease with which our Ragdolls can join us in our everyday life. Ragdolls are great companions! Family holidays are always better with Ragdolls!

I also enjoy all of the different patterns and colors Ragdolls come in! I grew up breeding and showing German Shepard’s with our family friend Judith Hale, of Cathlin Kennels. Judith taught me to appreciate all of the German Shepard colors and varieties, and I love that Ragdolls have great variety too! It is so much fun learning about and breeding for a variety of Ragdoll colors and patterns. In addition to the standard seal and blues, we also breed creams, reds, lilacs, and chocolate Ragdolls. We also breed mink Ragdolls.

One of my other favorite things about breeding Ragdolls is all of you! I feel so lucky to have found a hobby to participate in with my daughter, that not only brings amazing animals into our lives but that also brings fantastic people into our lives! From fellow breeders to past and prospective customers I have made so many lifetime friends (some more like family) doing this! I am blessed with sweet Ragdoll pictures and/or sweet Ragdoll stories most days. We have many friends who we can’t wait to see at cat shows.
